What are your day-to-day responsibilities? I take care of hardware quality for several of our facilities and labs.
Can you tell us about your journey?
I grew up in Orlando, but I wasn’t always a Knight. When I was a kid I always knew I wanted to become an engineer. I had a passion for figuring out how electronics work and how they were assembled. My dad taught me at an early age how to solder and build electronics. He started developing his electrical technical skills when he was drafted into the Army during Vietnam. He pushed me to learn and develop skills that would, later in life, translate to my engineering classes.
In high school, I always knew I wanted to go to UCF. While I was working as an assembler in the Fire Control Factory, I was determined to finish community college and transfer to UCF. I spent a bit longer than the normal 5 years it takes to get an engineering degree, but I enjoyed every minute of it while I worked at Lockheed Martin. My passion for UCF grew while earning my Mechanical Engineering Degree. UCF and Lockheed Martin are both places that give me a strong sense of family, and that is very important to me. Luckily, I live close to both of them. I shared this photo of me at a 2017 UCF basketball game because I know how hard they worked to almost make it to March Madness. I’m passionate about my school, family, life and work. Hard work and passion, if not given up on, can take you from a winless football season to an undefeated one. Just ask any UCF Knight fan.
